Veteran actor Mithun Chakraborty has tested positive for COVID-19. The actor is currently in home quarantine. He is taking the necessary precautions, according to the latest reports. Mithun Chakraborty has been busy campaigning for the upcoming elections for the past few days. The actor constantly drops updates on his Twitter, informing everyone about what he is doing. Chakraborty was spotted campaigning for the Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP) during the West Bengal elections. The actor was last shooting for his film Kashmir Files.
Filmfare made a tweet on Twitter and confirmed the news. The tweet made on Tuesday read: “Veteran actor #MithunChakraborty tests positive for #COVID19. The actor is taking all precautions and is under home quarantine."
However, after some time, the tweet made from the official account was deleted.
Meanwhile, Mithun Chakraborty was recently booked for flouting COVID-19 safety norms and restrictions while campaigning in West Bengal. A case was filed against the actor for not following rules amidst the pandemic with his election rally at Baishnabnagar assembly constituency in the West Bengal’s Malda district. The rally reportedly witnessed more than 500 attendees. As per reports in a section of the media, an FIR was filed against the actor by the Maldi District Magistrate Rajarshi Mitra following a complaint from the Trinamool Congress party.
