Varun Dhawan, we hear, is all set to play a double role in his father David Dhawan’s next. The actor was keen to do a light-hearted role after his much lauded portrayal of an angst-ridden man in the successful Badlapur. And who better than daddy dearest to do a comedy? After all, the duo tasted success in their last comic outing Main Tera Hero, last year.
Earlier Varun had confirmed to SpotboyE that he will be working with his dad on a comedy that will roll in 2016. Now SpotboyE.com has learnt that the film in question is a romcom and will be produced by Bhushan Kumar.
Said a source, “Bhushan and David have been in talks since November and this is the latest development.”
When probed if the comedy will be on the lines of the filmmakers 1997 hit Judwaa, the source added, Its a comedy and has a double role, so its obvious people will try and find similarities between this and Judwaa. But its too early to tell, added the source.
While Varun has given his nod to the film, the script is apparently being worked upon now. The project is most likely to flag off once the actor finishes work on Rohit Shetty's Dilwale.
