It was confirmed that Varun Dhawan and Sara Ali Khan will star together in the remake of Coolie No. 1. According to reports, it was speculated that the iconic song Main Toh Raste Se Ja Raha Tha will be remade for the film and now it is confirmed indeed.
Director David Dhawan promises that he will not mess with the original song as it plays a major role in the success of the film. The new version will be composed by Tanishk Bagchi. Recently, in an interview with Mumbai Mirror, the director and producer of the film said, “It is an important song for our film, and it has heart. But times have changed so I am going to picturise it very differently. It is an important song for our film, and it has heart. The 1995 film Coolie No.1 was shot in Bangalore and director David Dhawan has been working on the film since almost a year now. The film is ‘actually a new film’ and it will feature Varun Dhawan, Sara Ali Khan and Paresh Rawal in the roles of Govinda, Karisma Kapoor and Kader Khan respectively. The film’s shooting will kick off in Bangkok from August 5. The film releases on May 1st , 2020.
