Varun Dhawan and Govinda's clash last year wasn't one that anyone saw coming. Varun, being the son of Govinda’s long-time collaborator, David Dhawan, seemed to have developed some friction with Govinda. However, one look at Varun's latest Instagram post, and you will realise that he has now extended an olive branch.
In his latest post, Varun has shared a picture to wish Papa David Dhawan 'Happy Birthday', and shared a picture of David, Govinda and Satish Kaushik from Sajan Chale Sasural (1999).
Varun has captioned the pic as: "Happy birthday pa. All I can say is I don’t know anyone else who is as passionate about making movies like you. Can’t wait to get back on set with u #DD #NO1 (sic)."
It seems Varun is finally letting go off the fight with Govinda.
For those who've come in late, it all began last year when Varun was being labelled as the ‘New Govinda’ a month or two before Judwaa 2 release in 2017, courtesy his superb comic timing and fantastic dance moves. However, Govinda was not happy with the comparison and had retorted rather sharply, saying, "Ranveer Singh and Varun Dhawan both have a body like Salman Khan. But they can't say it. If they call themselves as Salman Khan, then they won't get films. They can't afford to be against Khan. This is how the filmy world works. How can he (Varun) be like me? To become Govinda, he needs to be innocent, uneducated and a poor village boy. Varun is already a son of a director. In the last six years, he hasn't done more than two films with his father, whereas I did 17 films with his father (David Dhawan)."
Varun never spoke ill of Govinda but soon for some strange reason, unconfirmed reports started doing the rounds that he had chopped off Govinda's name from a song in his Daddy's film Judwaa 2, produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The original song was supposed to have had the lyrics, "Govinda hai hero aur Madhuri hai heroine"
Not to lie low after the insult, Govinda had then spoken exclusively to SpotboyE.com and said, "Aisa nahin hota hai film industry mein. Here, everybody is out for business. Personal agendas are not carried out." Govinda clearly did not deny the fall-out but was rather diplomatic.
With Varun now apparently having called for 'Peace', let's wait and watch whether Govinda reacts to this. Stay hooked onto SpotboyE.com for more juicy gossip from Bollywood and TV world.
