We were the first ones to tell you that Amitabh Bachchan's voice will make a very special appearance in the upcoming Hrithik Roshan starrer Kaabil (OMG: Amitabh Bachchan Has A Special Role In Hrithik Roshan's Kaabil, Nov 16). And by now, you also know that Big B's influence extends beyond the sequence where Hrithik Roshan mimicks Bachchan's baritone to impress his wife, played by Yami Gautam. Kaabil also features one of Bachchan's most popular numbers, Saara Zamana Haseenon Ka Diwana from the 1981 hit Yaarana.
The song has been repackaged as an item number and will feature Mastii 3 star Urvashi Rautela, and contrary to reports, Hrithik is not a part of the song at all.

The song is being shot in Filmistan Studios (Goregaon) today. The scene is set in a dance bar where Ronit Roy (who has a very important role in the film)goes for a celebratory drink with a colleague.
Rehashing such a celebrated song is not an easy task but the original song too was composed by Rajesh Roshan who is helming the soundtrack of Kaabil.

A small anecdote about the song. It was being shot at an outdoor location and Neetu Singh who is also a part of it was missing Rishi Kapoor a lot. She frankly told the director Rakesh Kumar about her state of mind, and Big B happened to overhear it. While the song then had been shot just 50 per cent, Amitabh asked her to return to Mumbai immediately. On her asking as to what would happen to the rest half of the song, Amitabh said that he will manage the shoot and no one would ever notice that she wasn't there. And lo! Till now, did you even notice that she was missing in the second half of it?
This journalist remembers the response to the Saara Zamana when it released some three decades ago. The song appears an hour into the film and when Bachchan appeared in his bedazzled Elvis suit, the crowd went berserk.

Such was the energy in the theatres that a large section of the viewers had bombarded the screen with coins and a few of them had even torn the seats in the theatre in their feverish zeal. And mind you, almost the entire public had stood up when Amitabh had started that long famous walk when the song was about to begin.
Kaabil hits theatres over the Republic weekend in January 2017.
