With the internet turning out to be something important to help people connect with each other in 2020, it is also proving a problem for a few. These days, due to the extensive use of social media platforms, some viral bandits have found an easy way to trouble people. Many celebrities have fallen prey to online hacking, and have also done the needful always. Recently, actor turned politician Urmila Matondkar, who is an active social media user, made a tweet, informing fans that her Instagram account has been hacked.

Taking to her Twitter handle, Urmila Matondkar informed her fans that her Instagram account is hacked. She then shared pictures and tweeted that she filed an FIR with the cyber cell. The actress tweeted, “My Instagram account has been hacked @instagram.” She mentioned that it happened after she replied to a direct message (DM) on Instagram, where she was asked to follow a few steps and verify the account. Explaining the process of how her account got hacked, finally, Matondkar expressed her fury and mentioned how it’s not done.  

Later, the Rangeela actress made another tweet and told fans that cyber crimes is not something that women should take lightly. She then mentioned that as she went ahead to file an FIR about her Instagram getting hacked, she met a Mumbai Police DCP, who enlightened me more on the issue. She said she will be working on it in the future and tagged Maharashtra Cyber Cell in her post.



Talking about Urmila Matondkar’s Instagram profile, all the posts from the actor’s account were wiped out. Her display name was changed to ‘Instagram support’. A message followed on her profile read, “This is an automated message sent to you. Meanwhile, so far, celebrities like Rhea Chakraborty, Sushmita Sen’s daughter Renee Sen, Hrithik Roshan’s ex-wife Sussanne Khan, and other TV actors were also victims to online hacking.
