Vicky Kaushal’s Uri: The Surgical Strike proved to be one of the most successful ventures for the makers and such blockbusters can’t be forgotten. The film is set to re-release on July 26 in theatres on the occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas. Taking a noble step further with its re- release, government has decided to host free press shows for students in 500 theatres in Maharashtra. According to government it carried out to inspire the youth of India and encourage them to serve the nation by joining military forces of the country in their life.
Director Aditya Dhar was overwhelmed with this initiative and this gesture by Indian government towards his work is the greatest validation. He was quoted saying by PTI, “I am deeply honoured that 'Uri...' is becoming a part of the Kargil Vijay Diwas celebrations on 26th July. It's a wonderful initiative by our honourable Chief Minister Devendra Fadanavis sir to showcase the film in 500 locations across Maharashtra. I truly hope 'Uri...' keeps motivating each and every Indian for generations to join hands in serving our nation to the best of their ability.” When the news broke producer Ronnie Screwvala also confirmed the news.
Confirming the news, producer Ronnie said during his interaction to Mumbai Mirror, “The idea of making the film was to instill a sense of pride in the hearts of every Indian and to highlight the incredible service of the armed forces for our nation. I’m honoured to be a part of this initiative wherein Uri will be showcased across 500 theatres in the state on Kargil Vijay Diwas.”
The film released on January 11, 2019 and emerged as unexpected winner at the box-office.
Vicky will be next seen in Bhoot Part 1, Takht and Udham Singh, Ashwatthama and Meghna Gulzar’s next in the coming up year.
