For some, the after-party scenes for tonight are sorted. It is going to be an evening to remember for all Prabhas’ fans as his upcoming movie Saaho is going to hit the screens tomorrow. Oops, we mean 'almost' today! Generally, it is in the morning that a film marks its opening, but Prabhas is different. The first show of Prabhas and Shraddha Kapoor's Saaho down South is going hit the theatres as early as 1 am. No joking! Saaho which is a trilingual will get an opening which no other film has ever received, and this is all because of Prabhas’ fan following. In fact, Prabhas has gone a step ahead of Rajinikanth whose Kabali had released at 4 am in the morning.
We got in touch with Film Business and Trade Analysts, Girish Johar on this. He shared, “It shows the kind of cult fan following the stars have in South and whatever little information I have, I have been told that 1 am shows and early morning shows are also having a very great occupancy in terms of advance booking. In fact, a circular has come out from Andhra Pradesh Government stating the cinemas can screen the movie early. It itself is a big thing that the Government is coming out and supporting the fan craze. In nutshell, it is a win-win for everyone. Obviously, there is a craze and that is why producers, distributors are asking approvals from the Government to screen the shows early and even the Government has obliged by giving the approval.”
Talking about early morning shows in metro cities, he expressed that the excitement level is little less as compared to South but definitely ‘the inquisitiveness and excitement levels are there’. “Down South, it is mega and huge”, he concluded.
One can link this to Prabhas’ Baahubali success. It is only after the mega-success of the Baahubali series that Prabhas gained such prominence. Baahubali 2 had early morning shows starting at 6 am, however, in some parts of South the early morning shows had been canceled for non-payment of dues. Nevertheless, Prabhas’ charm worked and it did wonders at the box office. One can only expect Saaho’s collection to be insane gauging the madness. But only time will tell...
Until then, watch out this space for Saaho’s review.
