The ongoing farmers’ protest in Delhi has taken the nation by storm. Well, ever since the protests began, a streak of celebrities have been pouring in support for the farmers asking the government to roll back three farm laws. It appears that veteran star Dharmendra, too, had shared his concern for the farmers and asked the government to come up with a solution that helps them. He, however, deleted his tweet sometime later. The same tweet was then shared by a Twitter user, who went on to tag the Sholay actor and asked the reason behind doing so.
“I request the government... please quickly find a solution the farmers’ problems... the number of corona cases are on a rise in Delhi... it is painful,” read Dharmendra’s now-deleted tweet. Posting the same, a user tagged Dharam paaji and wrote, “Punjabi icon @aapkadharam paaji had tweeted this 13 hours ago. But later deleted it. Kuchh to majburiyan rahi hongi.. yun koi bewafa nahin hota.” In his response to the same, the veteran star wrote how some unwanted remarks made him upset and he removed the tweet.
“Aap ke Aise hi comments se dukhi ho kar apna tweet delete kar diya tha ..ji bhar ke gaali de leejiye Aap ki khushi mein khush hoon main..Haan ..Apne Kissan bhaiyon Ke liye ..bahut dukhi hoon ..Sarkaar ko jadldi koi hall tlaash kar Leena chahie. Hamari kisi ki koi sunwai nehin. (I felt sad by remarks like then, and hence deleted my tweet. You can abuse me to your heart’s content, I am happy that you are happy. I a sad for my farmer brothers. The government should find a solution fast, nobody is listening to us),” read Dharmendra’s response.
