Last night, Ram Gopal Varma’s unwarranted rant against
Tiger Shroff sent fans and industrywallahs in a tizzy. The maverick filmmaker
took to social media to make distasteful comments about the young actor which
ranged from commenting on the way he posed for pictures to drawing comparisons
between him and his ‘macho’ father, Jackie Shroff. Incidentally, Jackie stars
in RGV’s upcoming film, Sarkar 3 and has also worked with him in Rangeela
(1995).
While the remarks were uncalled for, what’s more
disheartening was the fact that it was Tiger’s birthday yesterday. Imagine
being gifted a set of nasty comments on your birthday. Gosh!
Post the episode, SpotboyE.com got in touch with a number
of Tiger’s friends who, undoubtedly, are horrified by what transpired.
“When Ram Gopal Varma began tweeting, we thought that he
is in high spirits and was being his usual distasteful self. But he didn’t
stop. How can running someone down make a filmmaker of his stature so happy?”
said a friend.
Another friend was taken aback by the fact that RGV
decides to pass such comments as Tiger’s father, Jackie Shroff, is busy
promoting Sarkar 3. “Jackie has so much goodwill in the industry and the Sarkar
3 promotions will soon gain momentum. How will he face Jackie?”
“Also, I would want to know, how do real men pose? This
is obnoxious. There will come a time when he will approach Tiger for a film,”
he added.

The third friend we got in touch with explained that Ramu
is a detached individual. “He isn’t exactly a family person. Hence, it is
impossible for him to understand that such comments affect not only the actor,
but his family as well. If you ask me, Ramu has lost it,” the friend said.
The friend further said that the filmmaker has history of
bad mouthing actors and thus should be ignored. “He has taken a dig at the
likes of Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and trolled Lord Ganesha in the past.
Does that not tell you about the man’s mentality?”
Point noted.
