Jaya Bachchan dons many hats that of a successful actress, politician, and of course caring mother. She has been very vocal about raising her children- daughter Shweta Bachchan and son Abhishek Bachchan. In an interview, the veteran actress had once mentioned that she was a very strict mother and that she had hit Shweta more than her son Abhishek. Yes, you read that right! Jaya revealed that Shweta was a very difficult child in her childhood days.
During her appearance on Simi Garewal’s show, the Sholay actor appeared with her entire family and made some shocking revelations. In one particular episode, Shweta revealed her mother had been more partial toward her brother Abhishek. She said she had been hit by her mother more often. While Shweta made this shocking revelation, Jaya explained the reason behind being too strict with her. She said back then, Shweta dared to talk back to her during multiple incidents. Adding up more spice, host Simi Garewal then played an old clip from an earlier interview with Jaya wherein she had admitted to having hit Shweta many times and never to Abhishek. Earlier, Shweta Bachchan had revealed getting a lot of thrashing from her mother Jaya on her daughter Navya Naveli’s show What The Hell Navya. She was quoted saying, “She was very particular about extra-curricular. I had to do Bharatnatyam, Hindi classical music, swimming, sitar, and piano.” She further added, “But she was very free with her slaps, I got slapped a lot. The ruler got broken on me once. She used to beat me a lot.”
