Bollywood actor Jackie Shroff is one of the most humble celebrities in the entertainment industry. He has never shied away from openly talking about growing up in poverty, discussing his humble beginnings and how he still misses his chawl life. For the unversed, he grew up in a Mumbai chawl called Teen Batti and made a name for himself with his versatile performances. While he now lives in a luxurious bungalow, it took him a long time to buy his own house.
Recalling the same, in an old interview with Bharathi S Pradhan, Jackie had revealed that he used to travel from his chawl to the film studios or outdoor locations. Talking about the same he shared how despite working in the film industry, he had to wake up early in the morning to stand in queues to use the washroom, with other chawl residents. He had said, “There were 7 kholis in the chawl. For 7 Kholis, we had three washrooms and 10 people used to share each of them.” ALSO READ: WHAT! The 66-year-old went on to add, during the interview, that he missed living in his house. He added, “In fact, I am trying to buy a little kholi there. He had also revealed that his then girlfriend, now-wife Ayesha, despite being from a rich family, used to also line-up for the washroom, whenever she stayed over. For those who don't know, the couple tied the knot in 1987. Having lived together for over three decades, Jackie and Ayesha are proud parents to Tiger Shroff and Krishna Shroff.
