Bollywood celebs appearing on international talk show hosted by Oprah Winfrey often happen to hit the headlines for some saucy deets. Back in 2009 former Miss world and ace Bollywood diva Aishwarya Rai Bachchan along with hubby-star Abhishek Bachchan. Oprah quizzed Aishwarya about why she had abided by a policy of no-kissing onscreen, despite being in the industry for years now. And known for his wits and humour, Aishwarya passed on the question to hubby Abhishek to answer.
Oprah asked her, “I understand you have never been kissed on camera,” replying to this Aishwarya laughed and said, "Go on baby" to her husband. Abhishek before giving out an answer, planted a kiss on his wife’s cheek and he mentioned it doesn’t happen in India like in the West, as audiences don’t feel it is required. Abhishek said, “Not a lot of it happens on camera in India as openly as it does in West. It is not about will it be accepted or not, it is not required. A lot of Indian audience doesn’t think it is required.”
He further decoding the romantic scene on screen left the audiences in splits, as he continued, “To put it this way, if we make up a scene, boy meets girl, they fall in love, they want to express their love and they kiss. In India, we will have a song. They have this intimate moment, and cut, you are in the middle of the mountains and you are singing and dancing.”
