Manikarnika has become the big controversy of town after its original director Krish broke his silence on SpotboyE.com about his strong differences (Kangana wanted Sonu Sood's character to die at interval) with Kangana Ranaut, which compelled him to quit. The director was also categorical in saying that Kangana had tampered with roles of Kashibai (Prajakta Mali) and Tatya Tope (Atul Kulkarni) amongst others. However, interestingly, Suresh Oberoi who is also a part of the film has informed us that Kangana added a couple of scenes to his role. Clearly, the lady in question has reshot and altered quite a bit.
Anyway, Suresh Oberoi also told us something more that is interesting as well. The senior actor said that he was asked to do Danny Denzongpa's role first. "But I declined and chose another role. Danny's role had too much of action scenes, which I wanted to avoid especially because I haven't been doing too much work in movies of late. I had taken a slight break after 2012 when I completed nearly 40 years of work in cinema," and then added, "But now I will do more films. I am playing Shahid Kapoor's father in Arjun Reddy and really enjoying every bit of it."

Manikarnika hit theatres on Friday (June 25) and collected Rs 7.5 cr on Day 1, an amount that its investors Zee Studios and Ease My Trip must not be very gaga about, considering that the movie is said to have been made at nearly 100 cr.
We shall bring you the Day 2 collection, soon. Don't go away.
