Priyanka Chopra and Farhan Akhtar starrer The Sky Is Pink has released today and there is much excitement about the film already. The film received outstanding reviews by the critics and the heart-wrenching movie has also received
great reviews from the audience so far. The film also stars Zaira Wasim and Rohit Saraf in the lead roles and the story revolves around the life of a teenaged girl named Aisha Chaudhary (played by Zaira Wasim) as she and her parent fought pulmonary fibrosis. The real Aisha Chaudhary, on whom this film is based, breathed her last in January 2015. However, her words and her message has been immortalized through her various talks about living life to the fullest in the face of adversity and impossible odds.
Aisha Chaudhary inspired millions through her talks and also a book titled My Little Epiphanies before her death. As the film released today, Dia Mirza took to her Twitter to share a video of her TEDx Talk, which was shot less than a year before the young girl breathed her last. Dia Mirza wrote, “As #TheSkyIsPink hits theatres today, my thoughts are with the wisest 17 year I have ever met... I miss you Aisha. All my love to team The Sky Is Pink !”
In the video, Aisha Chaudhary, aged 17, spoke at length about her medical condition pulmonary fibrosis and how she dealt with it with utmost happiness and optimism. In the TEDx Talk, Aisha Chaudhary shared, “Happiness is an attitude. Happiness is doing what you truly love and I believe can only come from acceptance,” The braveheart overcame a predicted life expectancy of only one year and her story deserves to be heard.
