Vivek Agnihotri’s latest release ‘The Kashmir Files’ has landed into another controversy as the Kerala Congress Party has shared a thread of facts in their tweets blaming Bhartiya Janata Party and Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in 1990. Congress claimed the migration started under the BJP-supported government and the Kashmiri Pandits started migrating from the valley during their tenure.

In a series of tweets, Congress claimed that between 1990-2007, it was the terrorist who killed 399 Kashmiri Pandits, while the number of Muslims killed by the terrorists in 17 years was 15,000.

In another tweet, Kerala Congress said, "BJP-supported VP Singh government came to power in December 1989. Pandits’ migration started the very next month, in January 1990. BJP did nothing and continued supporting VP Singh till November 1990.”

Attacking the BJP government, Congress addressed the initiatives and work done by them for the Kashmiri Pandits during that time. The government said that the UPA government in past built 5242 tenements for the Pandits in Jammu and also provided one-time assistance of Rs 5 lakh to each family.

Now, BJP has hit back at Congress and mentioned that their version of history is twisted. BJP MP KJ Alphons asserted that the Congress along with its allies had created a situation where Kashmiri Pandits were finding it difficult to live in the Valley In his tweet, he said, "They were murdered, there was a genuine fear for their lives, so they left...things have improved dramatically after the revocation of Article 370," ALSO READ: ‘Boycott Kapil Sharma Show’ Trends As The Kashmir Files Not Given Promotion Opportunity, Vivek Agnihotri Says, ‘They Refuse To Call Us Because We Don’t Have A Big Star’

Later, while proving that Congress was in touch with those fighting an armed protest demanding separate Kashmir, the senior government advisor Kanchan Gupta shared a photo of former PM Manmohan Singh with separatist leader Yasin Malik on Twitter and wrote, “Here is what #UPA did: Hugged and kissed terrorist Yasin Malik whose hands are stained with the blood of Indians, including IAF personnel. @INCIndia protesteth too much. It should instead opt for silence to hide its guilt and shame.”
