Janhvi Kapoor, who wowed fans with an impressive performance in Dhadak, is back with yet another power-packed role. Janhvi Kapoor is stepping into the shoes of Flight Lieutenant Gunjan Saxena, India's first woman IAF pilot. Shooting for the same has been going on in full swing and we have often come across some leaked pictures of Janhvi as Gunjan from the film’s set, which only made our wait for the film difficult. And, now, it’s time to rejoice as the makers of the film have unveiled Janhvi’s first look from the much-awaited biopic, which has been titled The Kargil Girl.
In the poster shared by the makers, an ambitious Janhvi Kapoor could be seen flying a paper plane and she looked radiant as ever. The Dhadak actor was sporting a multi-coloured sweater and let her hair open. Needless to say, we are impressed with Janhvi’s first look and she sure leaves an everlasting impact with her performance as Gunjan. Describing the poster, the makers wrote, “She was always told - ladkiyan pilot nahi banti...But she stood her ground, she wanted to fly!”

Another poster of Kargil Girl sees Janhvi Kapoor in the pilot’s avatar, being hailed by the Indian Air Force as she makes her way. The film’s third poster highlights the lovely father-daughter relationship, as it featured Janhvi embracing her on-screen father, Pankaj Tripathi. It looks like The Kargil Girl is going to be one extremely inspirational film, high on emotions.

For the unaware, Gunjan Saxena was among one of the first women Indian Air Force pilots to go on a war, she was also honoured with the Shaurya Chakra for evacuating the injured soldiers in the Kargil War, 1999. Meanwhile, Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl also stars Pankaj Tripathi, Angad Bedi, Vineet Kumar, Rajat Barmecha, Vijay Varma, Manu Rishi and Harsh Chhaya in pivotal roles. While the Sacred Games actor will be playing the role of Janhvi’s father, Angad Bedi will reportedly essay the role of her brother. Directed by Sharan Sharma and produced under Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions and Zee Studios, the film is slated to release on March 13, 2020.
