Soon after Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas’ wedding concluded, an international magazine The Cut.com carried an article targetting Desi Girl Priyanka Chopra. In the article, the writer named Mariah Smith had questioned the newly married couple’s love for each other and even their shaadi. Post the publish, it faced a lot of wrath on social media so much so that the editor of The Cut.com had to render a written apology to Peecee, Nick and their fans.
Now the author herself has apologised to the celebrity couple. Taking to social media, she has written, “I want to sincerely apologize to Priyanka Chopra, Nick Jonas, and to the readers, I offended and hurt with my words. I do not condone racism, xenophobia, or sexism. I take full responsibility for what I wrote, and I was wrong. I am truly sorry.”

The editor had left a note on the same URL and written “Last night, the Cut published a post about Nick Jonas and Priyanka Chopra’s relationship that shouldn’t have gone up. We’ve received dozens of messages from readers expressing their anger. We want you to know that we hear you and we’re sorry. The whole piece missed the mark. There is no good explanation for this other than human error and poor judgement. This was a mistake, and we apologize to our readers and to Priyanka and Nick.” Check it here.
At the launch of her new app Bumble’s launch party, the Quantico actress had reacted to the piece and said, “I don’t even want to react or comment. It's not even in my stratosphere. I am currently happy at this moment and such random things can't disturb me.”
Mommy Madhu Chopra had also given her views about the article to Mid-day and said, “It is a happy phase for our family, and we don't want to be disturbed by such idiotic things. I am happy that my daughter is married to someone she truly loves. I don't want to give publicity to those fools. There are some donkeys who do anything they feel like, but their actions don't affect us.”
Let's see how social media reacts to the apology rendered.
