Angry activists of the National Students Union of India (NSUI), affiliated to Congress, had disrupted the screening of the film in a cinema hall in Ajmer. The NSUI activists had also forced the closure of the cinema hall and asked viewers who turned up for the first show to leave. Demonstrations against the singer were held and posters and cutouts of the film were burnt.
