Zero hasn’t worked for Aanand L Rai. The filmmaker recently spoke about the failure of the film and told PTI, “I won’t say I am disappointed. I will need to understand (what went wrong). This is the story I wanted to say and I made it. After making Ranjhaanaa and Tanu Weds Manu and the second one, this film (Zero) was due for me to make. To take a certain flight and I have not landed on it properly. It is a learning and it will help me grow as a director. I am not afraid to take risks and experiment,”

And now it looks like he wants to revisit old and successful lanes. The latest development is that Aanand L Rai and Kangana Ranaut are soon going to announce Tanu Weds Manu 3.

Tanu Weds Manu Returns Poster

“I have been too busy with Manikarnika to attend any of the trials of Zero but Ananadji (Aanand L Rai) coming for a show of our film. We would be announcing Tanu Weds Manu 3 soon,” Kangana has told Mumbai Mirror, this morning.

What’s interesting about this development is that the duo (Kangana and Aanand) was not on best of terms while filming Tanu Weds Manu Returns.

You may recall in our last interview with the filmmaker during the release of Zero, Aanand had spoken about Kangana and he being on different pages as they returned on the sets together after a gap of 4 years (their last association being Tanu Weds Manu). He said both evolved differently in those 4 years because of which they found it difficult to connect on various occasions. Not terming it as an “interference” from the actress’ side, Aanand had also said they did were definitely on different tangents in respect to the making of the film. Watch the video below:

Meanwhile, back in 2017, both Kangana and Aanand had refuted news of doing Tanu Weds Manu 3. In fact, while talking to Pinkvilla in Sep 2017, she had said, "I am neither the producer nor the director of the said film [TWM]. Therefore, I am not in a position to announce the sequel to it. However, media reports that claim I am keen to do the film should know that I'd refused the sequel to this film long ago," Guess the Queen has had a change of mind and heart and the duo wants to get back to their career’s hit formula.
