Actress Tanishaa Mukerji made a name for herself in the Hindi film industry with her versatile performances. Despite trying her best to carve a place for herself, she failed to impress the audience and the critics with her acting chops. Over the years, she has also been a part of reality shows, where she has opened up about her life experiences. Having spoken about how she was in a coma, after getting into a serious accident during the shoot of her debut film Sssshhh… (2003), she once again opened up the same.
In a recent interview with News18, the Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 11 contestant revealed that she suffered from a serious brain injury after falling off of a mountain. While explaining how she was ‘brain-damaged,’ she shared that no one apart from the makers of the film knew about her accident. She spoke about how for around a year, she had to go through constant check-ups to make sure that the swelling in her brain had reduced. ALSO READ: OMG! Quoted by the Free Press Journal, the 46-year-old actress, said, “I was brain damaged. I fell off a mountain and I had a massive concussion. For pretty much one year of my life, I had to go for regular EEGs because you have to check if the swelling in my brain had reduced. Talking about the difficulties she faced during the shoot of the film, she recalled how she would sleep for 3 hours, despite only shooting for 2 hours. Tanishaa added, “It would be so hectic and I would pass out. I wouldn’t be able to stay awake because my brain was exhausted.”
The daughter of veteran actress Tanuja and Shomu Mukherjee, Tanishaa Mukerji is the younger sister of actress Kajol. After her debut, she went on to share in movies like Neal 'n' Nikki, Tango Charlie, Sarkar, and Code Name Abdu, among many others. She has also participated in reality shows like Bigg Boss season 7, Jhalak Dikhla Jaa season 11, and Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi season 7.
