With Ajay Devgn portraying the role of great Maratha warrior from the troops of Chhatrapati Shivaj Maharaj, Tanaji Malusure, it was definite to get a glimpse of Maratha culture and folk songs on the silver screen with the upcoming movie, Tanhaji: The Unsung Warrior. Makers have released a song titled, Maay Bhavani that showcases the celebration of holi, termed as Shimga in Marathi culture. Opening the track with naughty chemistry between Ajay and Kajol, it sets in the celebratory mood on the silver screen.
Kajol who plays Tanaji Malusure’s onscreen wife, Savitribai, looks pretty in the traditional nine yards saree with the traditional jewellery to complete her look. Ajay in the song confuses his onscreen better half with a disguise of an old man, but later unleashes his real self, instantly illuminating a smile on Kajol’s face. The song is all about thanking goddess, Bhavani for her blessings. This festival according to the Marathi calendar marks the arrival of the deities and people across the village gather to carry the holy palkhi (temple) to their respective homes, in order offer them prayers and seek blessings.
