Bollywood actor Taapsee Pannu, south star Khushboo and other celebrities have reacted to Rihanna’s tweet on Farmer's Protests. A few days back, amidst the farmer protests in the country, international singer Rihanna made a tweet, calling for support towards the protesting farmers. Rihanna’s tweet created a furore across the country. She tweeted, “why aren’t we talking about this?! #FarmersProtest.” A few other international celebrities also called out for support towards the farmer's protests, after Rihanna. Now, a few voices from the movies share their thoughts on the issue, in an exclusive interview with SpotboyE.com.
Taapsee Pannu: “Should people in India have commented on Black Lives Matter? Should people in India have commented on what happened in Capitol? I think that should answer the question. It’s farmers who will decide the platforms that they want to take their protest to, and not those who have been cozily sitting in their warm rooms while the farmers sat on roads in the coldest of days and nights.”
Khushboo Sunder: “It's a free country, free world. Commenting is not the problem. Problem is comments based on half-baked stories. I am sure Rihanna or Greta haven't read Farm laws or are clueless to what India witnessed on 26th Jan. Farmers were not rioting or involved in violence, the in-between politically motivated, incited group of trouble makers backed by opposition, is the problem. And these celebrities unfortunately do not read well. A picture seen, and they comment!”
Celina Jaitley: “Unless Rihanna could name all the diverse 28 states and 8 Union territories along with writing an essay on the challenges of modernising a massive and diverse farming community of India, she really shouldn’t direct her world peace endeavours to our country.”
