After a long break, it looks like Alia Bhatt is all set to get back to a film’s set. Well, her break included some romantic outings with boyfriend Ranbir Kapoor, getting spotted outside Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s office (after Inshallah got shelved) and sweating it out in the gym. Now, the actress has begun with the preparations for her upcoming period drama, Takht, which is going to be helmed by Karan Johar. Coincidentally, Alia Bhatt’s last film – Kalank – too, was a period drama and was produced under KJo’s Dharma Productions.
Coming back to Takht, Alia Bhatt took to her Instagram story and gave fans a sneak-peek into her brainstorming session with Karan Johar and Ranveer Singh. The boomerang shared by Alia Bhatt featured a mug that had Takht written on it and, in the background, we could see KJo engrossed into a discussion with Ranveer Singh, who seemed to be hiding behind the mug. On Saturday, both Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh were spotted outside Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. Check out the pictures below:
It was first on Neha Dhupia’s No Filter With Neha that the filmmaker had spilt the beans on Takht. “It’s something that I’ve always chased and wanted to kind of put up there and finally when Sumit Roy, the writer, came to me with the story of Dara and Aurangzeb, which is pretty much the first time I’m saying that what Takht is about. I think it is that part of history that I’m so passionate about. I can’t wait to get into the prep mode which I’ve already started off,” he had said.
Further, Takht boasts of an ensemble multi-cast. It also stars Anil Kapoor, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, Janhvi Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal in pivotal roles.
