Taapsee Pannu goes sightless in Blurr, her debut production venture. The film is touted to be a suspense thriller about twin sisters adapted from director Guillem Morales’ Spanish film Julia’s Eyes, a taut and clenched 2010 thriller. This is the first double role for Taapsee. But not her first Spanish remake. Taapsee played the lead in Sujoy Ghosh’s Badlaa -- a remake of the Spanish film The Invisible Guest directed by Oriol Paulo.
Taapsee Pannu was praised for her role in Badlaa, as she managed to hold her own against the presence of stalwarts like Amitabh Bachchan and Amrita Singh.
Interestingly, Oriol Paulo has a Blurr connection too. He wrote the original Spanish film Julia’s Eyes on which Taapsee’s Blurr is based.
Blurr is directed by Ajay Bahl, who has been struggling to put a project together since Article 375. Gulshan Devaiah, who plays Taapsee’s leading man in Blurr, says, “I am excited to be doing this film. And happy to be working in these difficult times.”
Taapsee shared the first poster of Blurr and announced the film on July 15. Sharing the muhurat shot, she wrote "It's surely a bright and new beginning The first schedule of #Blurr starts and we are thrilled and delighted! (sic)."
Sharing the first look poster of Blurr, Taapsee wrote, "You haven’t seen it all. As yet ! #Blurr #AjayBahl #PawanSony @zeestudiosofficial #OutsidersFilms @echelonproduction @itsvishalrana @pranjalnk @manavdurga (sic)."
