Taapsee Pannu has surprised us with each of her films in Bollywood. With some great successes in Bollywood to her name, Taapsee has made it big with her versatile roles in films. She is not one to be afraid of experimenting with different types of roles and she has an interesting line up of movies that includes Saand Ki Aankh, Tadka, and Thappad. She is currently at the top of her game with her latest release Mission Mangal, also starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi SInha, Vidya Balan and others.
While most of Taapsee’s films have been successful, few of her movies such as Running Shaadi, Dil Juunglee and this year’s Game Over failed to do very well. However, that hasn’t stopped Taapsee and she is only motivated to do better. She has also worked in several south films before making her debut in Bollywood. Now, in a recent interview with Hindustan Times, Taapsee opened up about her struggles in the film industry and how she had to work to carve a niche in Bollywood. She told the tabloid, “When you’re not from a film background and work to carve a niche, people try and paint a different image about the film industry. I was told, ‘Everyone will pounce upon you or take advantage of you’. And if you enter the industry, you’d have to bend backward or do things against your morals. It was a scary image for a girl who was sitting in Delhi having a middle-class life.” Scary as it was, Taapsee feels glad that she didn’t compromise on her ethics, or bend rules to fit in. She also added that when her films down south didn’t work well, we was written off as bad luck. She shared, “The producers were not casting me because they thought my five scenes and two songs in the film made a h**l lot of difference to the film’s result because I’m sheer bad luck. That was really hurtful and scary because it questioned my credibility and existence at a point. But thank God, that part didn’t take over me and I survived.”
Taapsee overcame all of her failures and is currently soaring high as there is no stopping her latest film Mission Mangal at the box office. The film, starring Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sonakshi Sinha, Kirti Kulhari, Sharman Joshi, and Nithya Menen among others has already crossed the 100cr mark and collected 135.99 cr.nett on day 9!
