Taapsee Pannu, who set an example for women after her film Pink (2016), has now decided to stand up for women rights.

Taapsee has launched a helpline to assist women in the domains of harassment and mental distress. It is very well timed given the much talked about molestation allegations by ex-employees of the The Viral Fever (TVF) against founder-CEO Arunabh Kumar is the burning topic of the hour.

Talking about the helpline, Taapsee said, “It is a profound initiative for all working women, especially in the events, entertainment and media industry. It is not just a step towards making the working environment safe for women, but also in making the world a better place.”

Helpline curator Sabbas Joseph tells a section of media, “We wish to create an environment where women can deliver to their full potential. Women in advertising, media and entertainment are both role models and influencers. It is a positive step towards making lives of working women easier.”

Taapsee has always stood for women rights. She recently spoke to SpotboyE.com about her Women’s Day video on cleavage and said, “If You Find My Cleavage Attractive, Why Should It Bother Me?”

Taapsee’s last film Running Shaadi with Amit Sadh did not perform well at the box-office. Her next film with Akshay Kumar, Naam Shabana shows her in a very strong light where she plays a tough spy. The film revolves around Shabana, who joins the Indian secret service, to take revenge from her boyfriend’s killers.
