Taapsee Pannu Is Happy Her Name Wasn’t Dragged In Filmfare Awards Controversy, ‘I Am So Used To Being Involved’

Taapsee Pannu recently won the Filmfare Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor Female has now reacted to the Filmfare Awards row, and said that while she is usually involved in them, she is glad this time she isn’t a part of the controversy

The 65th Amazon Filmfare Awards was held recently and saw the who’s who of Bollywood come together under one roof for the ceremony. This time around, the awards ceremony made the headlines for many reasons, including lyrics Manoj Muntashir and Yami Gautam’s snubs, and more importantly, the ‘paid’ controversy about Gully Boy’s win and the film sweeping most awards. Zoya Akhtar's Gully Boy bagged 13 awards including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor - Ranveer Singh, Best Actress - Alia Bhatt, Best Supporting Actor - Siddhant Chaturvedi, Best Supporting Actress - Amruta Subhash, among others.

Taapsee Pannu also won the Filmfare Critics’ Choice Award for Best Actor Female has now reacted to the Filmfare Awards controversy. She said that while she is usually involved in them, she is glad this time she isn’t a part of it. While interacting with the media at the Radio Mirchi Music Awards, Taapsee said, “It is nice that, for a change, my name wasn’t dragged into controversy. I am so used to it. I always get involved in some controversy or the other, but this time I wasn’t part of it. It means that most people were in agreement that I deserved the award, so I am thankful for that."

Taapsee shared her award with her "Saand Ki Aankh" co-actress Bhumi Pednekar for their roles and she also mentioned that she had been preparing her speech since 2016, and it was of no use. But this time, she did not prepare the speech and had to deliver one!


Taapsee Pannu will next be seen in Anubhav Sinha’s Thappad, which is scheduled to release on February 28, 2020.
