Taapsee Pannu lashed out at electricity providing company in her latest Tweet. The actress in her tweet mentioned an 'insane' electricity bill over and above the unit that she has used during the last month. Sharing the amount of the bills paid in the recent past, the latest bill received by the actress is Rs 36,000 for the month of June.  In her tweet she asked the company what are they exactly charging her for, by observing this insane rise in the bill suddenly.

In her tweet she also mentioned not buying any new electrical appliances amidst the three months long COVID-19 lockdown. She tweeted, “3 months of lockdown and I wonder what appliance(s) I have newly used or bought in the apartment only last month to have such an insane rise in my electricity bill. @Adani_Elec_Mum what kind of POWER r u charging us for?” The previous bill amounts are merely three –four thousand, hence the straight spike to thirty six thousand, got the actress taking a dig at them.

In another tweet, Taapsee wrote, "And this one is for an apartment where no one stays n it’s only visited once in a week for cleaning purpose  @Adani_Elec_Mum I am now worried if someone is actually using the apartment without our knowledge and you have helped us uncover the reality."

Also facing a similar issue and taking up to the social networking sites were Vir Das and Dino Morea. While Vir tweeted, “Anyone else in Mumbai get an electricity bill that is triple what they usually pay?”, Dino wrote, “I was just going to tweet about it. Literally got a shock, pun intended. There was no surge in electricity, just the bill.”Besides them, comedian Kaneez Surkha, actresses Shruti Seth and Amyra Dastur too complained of receiving exorbitant electricity bills.

Adani Electricity Mumbai Limited later responded to Taapsee Pannu's Tweet. "Upon receipt of the complaint, we have verified the meter reading and found to be correct." said an AEML spokesperson on actress Taapsee Pannu’s high bill complaint on twitter.  ALSO READ: Taapsee Pannu Mourns The Death Of Her Grandmom 'Biji' With A Heartwarming Note, 'A Void That Will Stay Forever'
