Taapsee Pannu has carved a niche for herself in Hindi cinema due to her impeccable screen presence and acting chops. And her recent movies have earned her awards too. But in 2016, Taapsee said she was disappointed for not winning awards despite her praiseworthy performance in Shootjit Sircar’s Pink. In a conversation with Bollywood Hungama now, Taapsee said she is all set to take revenge for it, albeit jokingly. The talented actress mentioned that while her performance in Pink was not acknowledged, her upcoming movie Rashmi Rocket will compel people to think about it.
“Please give me one! [a National Award] Whom shall I ask for it? What can I do? I can only perform to my best, and that's all that I have control over. I've never lobbied even for regular awards, which is why it took so long for me to win one. So how will I be able to lobby for a National Award?”
Taapsee continued, “I have no idea how to go about it other than making sure that if I don't win one this year, I'll return the next year with another performance. I have kept that attitude since 2016, when I was not acknowledged for Pink. And ever since then, my way of taking revenge has been to come back with a performance every year that's going to make you sit up and take notice of my work. That's all that I have control over, really.”
Taapsee was last seen in Haseen Dillruba, also starring Vikrant Massey and Harshvardhan Rane. Her next film, Rashmi Rocket is scheduled to premiere on October 15, 2021 on Zee5. Taapsee also has Looop Lapeta, Dobaaraa and Shabaash Mithu in the pipeline.
