Vinil Mathew helmed Haseen Dillruba marked Taapsee Pannu’s first release on the OTT platform, amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. While the film garnered praise for the actress, she also received some nasty comments leaving her infuriated. She mentioned the difference between these messages and when it comes to getting picked on the public platform. Along with her, co-star Harshvardhan Rane also revealed being targeted for his onscreen character in the movie. The reason behind the Thappad actress being agitated was the comments were too personal, as reported in Hindustan Times.
While she was attacked for the character Rani Kashyap for being unfaithful onscreen, her co-star Harshvardhan was spared. Writer of Haseen Dillruba Kanika Dhillon agreed with it. In conversation with Bollywood Bubble, she states while both these actors played characters chalked out by her, Taapsee bore the brunt just because she is a woman, while her other character played Harshvardhan was spared. She said, “Although both the characters are mine, one child has gotten the beating because she's a woman, and the other one, he's going after his brother's wife, and nobody is questioning him...”
While Harshvardhan who played Taapsee’s onscreen brother-in-law, shared receiving unpleasant messages, the actress explained to him the difference between people targeting celebs on social media to what happens in public forums and debates.
While he said, “So many people have written to me on Instagram, asking 'how could you do this?” Taapsee rebuttals “Harsh, there is a difference between people asking on Instagram to public forum debates happening and calling out names... There's a huge difference.” ALSO READ: Taapsee Pannu On Choosing Films And Talent For Her Production House: ‘Never Claimed That I Will Give Work Only To Outsiders’
