Isn’t it amazing when art comes to rescue the needy? That’s exactly what the makers of M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story and Sushant Singh Rajput are doing at the moment.
They have taken an initiative with Mukul Madhav Foundation, which is the CSR partner of Finolex Industries Ltd, to bring forward an untold story of a 15-year-old deaf boy’s struggle.
Just like M.S. Dhoni - The Untold Story is not only about cricket, but also the journey of resolve and how destiny can be turned around with sheer will and determination, 15-year-old Ratnagiri boy Vishwas Shinde's story is also an inspiring one. The young boy battled all odds to achieve the goals he had set for himself.
Vishwas Shinde, a student from a poor family studying in the 9th standard at Phatak High School in Ratnagiri district became deaf after an acute attack of mumps. He had to discontinue his education, but fate intervened in the form of persistent teachers who made him resume his studies.
Not only did he appear for his SSC examination under the disabled students' category, but also enrolled himself for a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering at the Government Polytechnic in Ratnagiri even though he continued to suffer from deafness.
A cochlear implant could solve Vishwas’ problems and it is then that Mukul Madhav Foundation, the CSR partner of Finolex Industries Ltd came to the rescue of the teenager. The company provided Rs.7.5 lakh required for restoring his hearing.
Finolex Industries Limited, headquartered in Pune, is the market leader in the supply of PVC pipes & fittings for the agriculture and non-agricultural sector that includes housing, industry and construction.
