Yesterday, the makers of Sushant Singh Rajput starrer Dil Bechara dropped the first official poster of his last film online. Soon after they announced the release of the film on the OTT platform, Disney Plus Hotstar, #DilBecharaOnBigScreens started trending heavily on social media. This afternoon, SSR’s last co-star Sanjana Sanghi took to Instagram and reacted to the trend #DilBecharaOnBigScreens. Sharing a voice note, the debutant wrote that we should not make it about big or small screens, it should rather be about the late actor. In her long note, Sanjana had asked people to forget the debate and pour their love on the film no matter which screen it is releasing on.
But it seems like not only netizens, SSR’s family members too are disappointed over makers’ move of shifting the release of the film from theatre to the OTT platform. Soon after the news of Dil Bechara not seeing a theatrical release, the actor's cousin brother said that they are not in support of this decision and want the film to release on 70 mm only. While speaking to ABP, Sushant’s cousin brother said that the actor has been working in films so that they could release on big screens not on digital.
SSR’s cousin brother went on to say that they are not in support of releasing his last film on digital platforms. “As a tribute to the actor, makers should release the film on big screens so that everyone could watch it each easily. So we want the film to be released on the big screen only and nowhere else.”
