As reported by Republic, the CBI team was on standby to fly to Mumbai and was waiting to examine the Supreme Court's order. The Apex Court has now given out the verdict stating that it is CBI that will take over the investigation in actor's death case. It was during the last hearing on August 11, Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer had argued that Bihar Government and police do not have any jurisdiction in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case as in the incident happened in Mumbai and hence, they cannot transfer the case to CBI. However, as the centre approved the request for the CBI probe, the investigating body re-registered the FIR filed against Rhea and family by Sushant Singh Rajput's father.

In a statement given out by Rhea's lawyer yesterday, it mentioned that the actress does not have any problem with CBI inquiry. However, she called for a fair and impartial trial. A part of the statement read, "Rhea has always maintained that she would like the truth of the matter to be revealed by virtue of a fair and impartial investigation."
