Sushant Singh Rajput forayed into movies with Abhishek Kapoor's Kai Po Che but the late actor got success and recognition with MS Dhoni: The Untold Story where he essayed the titular role and since then, there was no looking back. To get into the skin of any character, the actor used to go to the extremes to get it right. Something like that had happened with Sushant when he was practising for the MSD's biopic and a man even mistook him as the cricket player and not an actor. Recalling the sweet memory, SSR's college friend Vishad Dubey shared a precious anecdote of his life as MS Dhoni completed four years of its release today. He took to his Instagram account and shared a video of Rajput doing net practice.
While sharing the video, he first mentioned a quote from APJ Abdul Kalam which read, "To become 'unique,' the challenge is to fight the hardest battle which anyone can imagine until you reach your destination." Sharing the backstory of the video, he further wrote, "I edited as a twitter friend wanted to do some activity close to the release of the movie and requested me to provide an unseen footage Anecdote - For 10 months straight, we use to practice for hours together to first get the cricketing skills right and later fine-tune the nuances of mannerisms to imbibe #MSDhoni. Once in MCA (I think we were already into the 7th month of practice), Sushant was going through his routine of hitting shots with a straight bat (as directed by Kiran More Sir) being bowled at by young Ranji players. What we were unaware of was that there was a man sitting in the balcony and keenly observing. Later, during the day the man comes down and asks Kiran More Sir, that which state this person (Sushant in his kit, so aptly unrecognizable) plays for.
He continued, "More Sir laughs and says he is Sushant, the actor who is portraying MS in the movie. The Man was surprised. Soon after the niceties were exchanged between Sushant and the man himself - #SachinTendulkar and I quickly whisper in Sushant's ear- " Kya din aagaye bachpan se; aaj hum khel rahe aur sachin dekh raha (ignore the casual reference). He smiled and said, "yehi to asli success hai." - your childhood heroes becoming your admirers
Vishad then concluded the note by saying, "Once again, thanks #SushantSinghRajput for the life lived #4YearsOfMsDhoniTheUntoldStory"
