On Monday, Bollywood film Chhichhore starring Late Sushant Singh Rajput and Shradha Kapoor under the direction of filmmaker Nitesh Tiwari bagged 'National Film Award' in 67th National Film Awards. The film also starred Saanand Verma, who is currently playing Anokhelal Saxena in the famous television sitcom Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain!.
Now, the actor has shared his excitement of being part of the film which has won this prestigious award and at the same time he also revealed how sad he is that the film's hero, Sushant Singh Rajput is not there anymore to celebrate this win. Talking to SpotboyE.com exclusively, Saanand said, "I am very excited that our film Chhichhore has won a national award. And I knew from the word go that Nitesh Tiwari is going to do a fantastic job. Because he is a very talented filmmaker. But on the other hand, I am sad also that Sushant is no longer with us to celebrate this victory. And this is I think one way of saying thank you. Sushant was a great human being and a super awesome artist." He also added, "The message film Chhichhore gives is amazing. Failing in a class cannot make you a loser. You are not a loser if you do not stop trying. So the concept, story, screenplay, the idea of Chhichhore was so fantastic that everyone loved this film. This day is very special for me that our film has won this prestigious award. I would like to congratulate the entire team."
Yesterday, producer of the film Sajid Nadiadwala also released the statement dedicating the National Film Award to the late actor. His statement reads, "On behalf of NGE, I dedicate this extremely prestigious award to Sushant Singh Rajput. We can’t get over his loss ever but I sincerely pray that this award gives a little bit of happiness to his family and fans which includes me. And I am tremendously grateful to Nitesh Tiwari for giving us all this very special movie."
The producer also mentioned he was a fan of SSR and his work in the movies. Well, we too hope that Sushant is smiling wherever he is.
