Sushant Singh Rajput died by suicide on June 14, 2020, and in the days following his untimely death, there has been a lot of outrage on social media, as well as many turns in Sushant’s death case. Sushant’s father KK Singh filed an FIR in Bihar, accusing Rhea Chakraborty of abetting Sushant’s suicide. A team of Bihar Police had arrived in Mumbai to investigate the case, and City SP Vinay Tiwari, who will be leading the Bihar Police reached Mumbai yesterday.
Now, while speaking to Mid Day, Vinay Tiwari said that he came to Mumbai as there isn’t proper coordination between Mumbai and Bihar Police, and that he would guide his officers. “We haven't received the case-related documents from Mumbai police yet. We will collect all the documents, including the accidental death report, post-mortem and forensic reports and statements of people interviewed by Mumbai cops,” said Vinay Tiwari. He also said that as of now, there are is no plan to arrest Rhea Chakraborty, but if need be, they will take her into custody.
Meanwhile, Home Minister of Maharashtra tweeted that Sushant Singh Rajput’s death case is being politicized for political gains, and he also condemned the demand for the case to be handed over to CBI.
“@MumbaiPolice already began investigating allegations about @itsSSR 's unfortunate alleged suicide. Even if Bihar Police registered an offence in Patna, under Ch. 12 & 13 of the #CrPC it has to be investigated, inquired & tried by police & courts within whose jurisdiction,” wrote Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh. He further added, “The offence is committed. I condemn the demand for the @itsSSR case to be handed to #CBI.
