The investigation in Sushant Singh Rajput's death case was commenced by the Enforcement Directorate after the bank transactions of the late actor showed some suspicious activities. So far, the ED has summoned the likes of Rhea Chakraborty, her brother Showik Chakraborty, her father Indrojit Chakraborty, her manager Shruti Modi, Siddharth Pithani and Sushant's sister Mitu Singh among many others. The ED has also confiscated four phones, two iPads and a laptop from the Chakraborty family to send it to the forensics for further examination. However, if a report in Times Now is anything to go by, the Mumbai Police is failing to cooperate with the ED officials.

As per the news portal, the Mumbai Police hasn't handed over late actor Sushant Singh Rajput's phone to Enforcement Directorate, despite them sending letters to the police officials not once, but four times. Reportedly, the Mumbai Police isn't cooperating because the ED investigation has commenced after the FIR filed in Bihar. A petition against the same has been filed by Rhea Chakraborty, seeking her late boyfriend's death case transfer to Mumbai Police. It is being reported that is coming across as a huge obstacle for the ED to continue with their investigation.
