Sushant Singh Rajput’s demise has left his family, close friends, fans and the nation at large in a state of sorrow and shock. The talented actor ended his life by hanging himself to the ceiling fan in his Bandra house in the morning of June 14. He was 34. Reports suggest he was battling clinical depression. Police has acted swiftly upon his suicide case and has interrogated over 28 people in connection with it, so far. They have questioned Sushant’s family, his close circle of friends and his rumored girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, among others.  

Sushant’s sister Shweta Singh Kirti who stays in California, flew down to India on June 16 upon hearing of the heartbreaking news. She could not be with the family for her brother’s last rites. Shweta was present for the immersion of her little brother’s ashes at their home town, Patna. A Twitter account named Vishal Kirti, that is believed to be Shweta’s husband’s has shared an update about the launch of something called a Nepometer. “Fight Bollywood Nepotism with Information. We will provide rating for movies based on how nepotistic or independent movie crew is. If the #nepometer is high, then it’s time to #boycottbollywoodnepotism #fightnepotism,” updates Sushant’s brother-in-law. 


The news was shared on Twitter with the caption, “Created by my brother @mayureshkrishna in the memory of my brother in law @itsSSR.” Sushant’s tragic and untimely death has not been easy on anyone, especially his family and close friends. Vishal’s wife, Shweta’s Facebook page is testimony to their deep sorrow.



Meanwhile, the suicide has sparked off a raging debate on Nepotism on social media with netizens lashing out at Alia Bhatt, Karan Johar and a bunch of star kids. As per reports, Karan has lost more than half a million social media followers since Sushant’s untimely demise.
