Sushant Singh Rajput Death: Ex-DCP Of Bandra Reveals Why No Action Was Taken After Whatsapp Complaints Made By Actor’s Brother-In-Law

After Sushant Singh Rajput's father filed an FIR against his girlfriend Rhea Chakraborty, their lawyer Vikas Singh claimed that his family had warned the Bandra Police regarding danger to Sushant's life way before his death alleging he was not with good company. On 25th February, the family had reported to Bandra police saying, 'he is not in good company and please ensure nothing untoward happens to him.' Later, a copy of the alleged complaint which was made via WhatsApp by Sushant's brother-in-law, a Haryana IPS officer, OP Singh, to DCP Bandra who acknowledged it on WhatsApp too was shared by Times Now. Speaking on the same, CNN News 18 has now spoken to ex-DCP of Bandra, Paramjit Singh Dahiya about his response when he received the complaint via WhatsApp. To which he said that we never got a formal complaint and had asked them for a written complaint. 

 

Talking about more, he said, "On February 19 & 25, some WhatsApp conversations were forwarded to me. Sir (SSR’s brother-in-law) said the lady concerned should be dealt informally. I politely said 'Sir, I can’t do it without a formal complaint'" The IPS officer of Haryana requested that the SHO of the Bandra Police station should get in touch with the manager of Sushant Singh Rajput and we should let his manager know that the couple was in Mumbai which seemed a little bit strange for me. Being a brother-in-law he could have called him up but at that time I didn't pay much heed." 

 

When asked that after so many SOS calls why there hasn't been any response from the police, to which the DCP of Mumbai quipped, "They were WhatsApp messages that were forwarded to me while there were some which were written by him. Amongst the forwarded one, some were from of Priyanka - his lawyer sister. After reading those conversations, we also spoke to him over the phone where he said that the lady in concern should be handled informally which means that on the basis of WhatsApp complaint, a person should be called by the police. I politely told the officer that without a written complaint that is not possible. We had to have a written complaint to summon a lady or any associate.”

 

The DCP also mentioned that after this there was no written complaint neither they texted him hence no further action was taken.
