Speaking with IndiaToday, in an interview, Sushant Singh Rajput's cousin brother and BJP MLA Neeraj Kumar Singh Bablu expressed his hesitation that the witnesses related to the case, maybe eliminated by the forces who do not want to truth to be out as they are presenting themselves before the media. Rajput’s cousin said, “Every day new witnesses are coming out in Sushant’s case and new facts are coming to light. Such people also want to share their information with the CBI. There is a sense of insecurity in these witnesses and there is a possibility that they may be killed.”
The BJP MLA then went on to question as to why the Mumbai Police have not provided security to these witnesses, who could prove important when the CBI probe begins. Requesting the Mumbai Police to provide protection to all the witnesses who have come forward, Rajput’s cousin said, "I urge the Mumbai Police to provide immediate protection to all the witnesses who have come forward in Sushant Singh Rajput case and ensure evidence are not tampered with so that when the CBI begins with the investigation, witnesses and pieces of evidence are presented before them for a free and fair probe.” Neeraj Singh also continued to mention that if any harm is caused to any witnesses related to SSR’s case or a piece of evidence is tampered with, the investigation will be highly affected.
