Over three months after Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s sudden demise, the Narcotics Control Bureau investigating the drug angle in the actor’s case arrested Rhea Chakraborty on September 8. Since Rhea’s arrest, several reports claimed that there is drug nexus running in Bollywood. In today’s Monsoon session of Parliament, the topic related to drug cartel's links to B-town was raised. As the debate over Bollywood’s use of drugs reached the parliament today, as per reports, the Home Ministry issues a statement on drug usage and those arrested.
Times Now reported that the Centre claimed that the investigation in the Bollywood drug nexus is in process. In a written statement accessed by the news channel, the Centre claimed that investigation is on and that 10 peddlers have been arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau in connection to the Bollywood drug link. On the other hand, the Home Ministry also shared a statement in today’s Monsoon session of Parliament, where 10 peddlers being arrested were mentioned.
As per the report, the NCB has found a drug nexus in the Hindi film industry in the statement accessed. The report even stated that the officials have also been able to seize banned substances and different types of drugs. Meanwhile, the details reported also stated that the NCB is investigating the drug nexus to understand who all are involved.
