Neeraj Pandey had to alter a crucial scene in his upcoming biopic M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, after he failed to obtain the Defence Ministry’s permission.
The sequence -- of Sushant Singh Rajput, who plays the Indian skipper, firing a shot -- was to be filmed at the Tughlakabad Air Force Station on June 25.
But all plans went down the drain after the makers delayed the mandatory paperwork. Finally, when they submitted the required documents on June 14, the Defence Ministry dropped bombshell.
Contrary to what Neeraj and his teammates had thought, the government authority said they’ll need at least 30 days to complete formalities and grant permission for the shoot.
Now, the makers were in a real fix -- with the film set to release on September 30 and the post-production work yet to be completed, waiting for another month was simply not an option for them. What added to their dilemma was the fact that they had already paid a hefty fee for shooting on the Air Force station premises. However, after much deliberation, they have now decided to cancel the shoot.
A source told SpotboyE.com, “The producers had paid a heavy amount, but since it’s not possible to begin shooting on June 25, they have cancelled the plan. They will soon move an application in this regard. Though the entire amount may not be refunded, they’ll at least get back some of it.”
