Anushka Sharma and Varun Dhawan looked visibly excited as
they unveiled the trailer of their forthcoming film, Sui Dhaaga, this
afternoon. At the event, the lead pair spoke about the experience of
working on the film and also revealed interesting trivia- one such being that
Anushka had said no to the film, at first. Surprised? So were we.
Anushka said that when the director of the film, Sharat
Kataria and Maneesh Sharma approached her for the film, she had all the doubts
about doing justice to the role as the actress was not confident if she would
be able to pull it off. However, after much pursue, Anushka said yes.
“I could not believe I can play this character. I told
him Sharat and Maneesh, ‘your story is fabulous and I am happy YRF is making
this film. The character is different from my personality on another level. I
have always wanted to challenge myself but I can’t understand the way I can do
this role. It’s completely against my grain.’ I was very afraid to take it up
as I knew I won’t be able to do justice to the character. While both me and
Aditya thought I might not be able to do it, Sharat and Maneesh were supremely
convinced otherwise. Sharat even came to my house to tell me how he feels I fit
the role. I’ll be very honest; I went with his faith in me more than my faint
in myself. But now, I am so happy now that I am a part of this film and I
played the character.” Anushka revealed at the event.
