With the rise in COVID-19 cases and the emergence of Omicron variant, the government is back at putting restrictions on the citizens. This has affected the filmmakers yet again, as the government is putting restrictions, asking the theatres to function till specific hours. As reported in BollywoodHungama, in Delhi theatres were even shut down. Hence, the makers of Shahid Kapoor-Mrunal Thakur starrer Jersey, have rescheduled the movie’s release. But same is not the case with SS Rajamouli’s RRR.
As reported in BollywoodHungama, the filmmaker has confirmed that his upcoming venture RRR, will not be affected by these restrictions. Movie starring Jr NTR, Ram Charan, Alia Bhatt and Ajay Devgn, has the makers sticking to their decision of the release date initially decided by them. RRR will release on January 7, 2022. The filmmaker told Trade Analyst Taran Adarsh, the reason behind them staying on this date is RRR being a multi-lingual film it was scheduled to release around the Sankranti festival. Hence, there would be no changes, confirmed the filmmaker.
