The last few months for Rhea Chakraborty were no less than a nightmare. Right from tragically losing her boyfriend Sushant Singh Rajput to facing media trials, social media wrath and serving a month in jail; the Jalebi actress underwent an extremely bad phase. In an exclusive conversation with Subhash K Jha, filmmaker Rumi Jaffrey, who happens to be a good friend of both Sushant Singh Rajput and Rhea Chakraborty, opened up on his experience of meeting the latter and how she is recuperating.
Rumi revealed how spending a month in jail has completely crushed Rhea's morale and that she is healing at present. Rumi added how she is expected to return to work soon this year. "It has been a traumatic year for her. Of course, the year was bad for everyone. But in her case, it was trauma on another level. Can you imagine any girl from a well-to-do middle-class family spending a month in jail? It has crushed her morale completely," said the filmmaker.
He added, "Rhea will return to her work early next year. I met her recently. She was withdrawn and quiet. Didn’t speak much. Can’t blame her after what she has gone through. Let the heat and dust settle down. I’m sure Rhea will have a lot to say."
For those unaware, Rhea and Sushant were supposed to star in a romantic film by Rumi Jaffrey. However, the film was permanently shelved after Sushant's tragic demise.
