COVID-19 pandemic affected all the businesses across the world; the sports industry is also one of them. As all the tournaments scheduled in the year 2020 came to a halt, there were no competitive cricket matches played since then. While the cricketers remained away from the 22 yards, practicing social distancing to curtail the further spread of the virus, people earning from this sport, suffered a lot. Such as bat makers, groundsmen, bat repairer and so on. Coming to the rescue of one such person is actor Sonu Sood.
The actor is dived deep into serving the people who have been hit by the pandemic severely. The actor has come forward to offer help to a bat repairer, Ashraf Chaudhary. Known to have repaired cricket bats of some of the biggies such as Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli and more, he has been going through a financial crunch. The bat repairer who runs an ancestral home in Mumbai has been hospitalised due to some kidney ailment and has been struggling to pay his hospital bills.
When a netizen got this to the actor’s notice, he asked him to find out Ashraf’s address so that he can help him. He tweeted, “Find the address of this brother”
As per reports in Indian Express, Prashant Jethmalani who is helping Ashraf get financial help was quoted saying, “His situation is not good. There was some kidney stone-related problem, which has resurfaced again and there are other complications too. The lockdown means his business took a major hit as cricket has completely come to standstill in the city. He doesn’t have funds; whatever he has, it’s over.” ALSO READ:
