In the past few months, Sonu Sood made headlines for championing the cause of helping migrants in Maharashtra head to their home states such as Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Karnataka, Odisha, Kerala and Bihar. Recently, the actor also joined hands with his close friend and film producer Ajay Dhama to help migrants reach home. Now Sonu Sood has gone a step ahead and he has helped Mumbai Police. The Paltan actor has now gone the extra mile to help COVID-19 front warriors, Mumbai Police by donating 25,000 face shields.
Tweeting about the same Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh wrote, “I thank @SonuSood Ji for your generous contribution of giving 25,000 #FaceShields for our police personnel.” Replying to Home Minster, the actor wrote, “Truly honoured by your kind words Sir! My police brothers and sisters are our real heroes and this is the least that I can do for the commendable work which they have been doing. Jai Hind.”
Reacting to the same, Sonu had told TOI, “When those allegations were made about me and the controversy erupted, I didn’t even read what was being written. When someone called to take my opinion on the matter, I was busy arranging travel for labourers and I told the person that right now I am doing something important and I don’t have time to react. I don’t care about such allegations. The idea is, when you are trying to do something different and good, people will point their fingers at you. As a matter of fact, such allegations strengthen my resolve to do more and do better. And we actually got inspired to do more. We are, and we will continue doing the good work.”
