Just 2 days of consistent downpour has brought the Mumbai city to a standstill. With water-logging all around the Maharashtra government declared a holiday for the city on Tuesday morning. B-Town celebs like Sonam Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Dia Mirza, Madhuri Dixit and several others shared pictures and videos updating people about the rains and also seeking help for themselves.
The Mumbai rains have brought the best weather for Alia Bhatt as the actress posted a picture of the weather outside.
Sonam Kapoor seeked help from Mumbai Police to get flight and airport updates.
The actor took to Twitter to ask whether or not the airport was open. To this, actress Rakul Preet Singh replied, "No flights have taken off since last night .. m stuck at the airport."
Mumbai Police, who is known for its swift reply on Twitter, also responded, "As per information received from Airport Manager, flights are landing & departing from the airport depending upon weather condition & R mostly delayed. Pls check status of your flight b4 starting for airport.Due to waterlogging, travel time to airport may take longer than usual."
Kalank star Varun Dhawan also shared a video of him travelling to the sets of his upcoming film Street Dancer 3D. The film also features Shraddha Kapoor and Nora Fatehi and several dancers and ace choreographers from the industry. Directed by Remo D'Souza, the film is scheduled to hit theatres on January 24, 2020. The actor will also co-star in daddy David Dhawan’s Coolie No.1 with Sara Ali Khan in pivotal roles. The film is set to release on Labour Day 2020. Dia Mirza posted a picture, which read as, “To all our friends who are vacationing in London and New York, please know this is how Mumbai is doing.” Of Course he was indirectly intimating Arjun Kapoor and Malaika Arora we guess?
Fatima Sana Shaikh and Sanya Malhotra, the Dangal co-stars also shared videos on their Instagram stories. The actors are reportedly teaming up once again for Anurag Basu's next film which will also feature Abhishek Bachchan, Rajkummar Rao and Aditya Roy Kapur.
While stars like Bipasha Basu and Madhuri Dixit have also taken some time to cherish the weather and share their joy with fans through their social media pages.
As the city enjoys the heavy rains, Mumbai’s downfall of water-logging city seems to not be helping the people in tough times; the navy and Mumbai police are making an effort to assure the safety of people.
