Sonali Bendre is on a roll. The actress, who was detected with cancer in July last year, is back in India after her medical treatment in New York. Soon after Sonali returned to India, the actress didn’t wait for too long to face the camera. After doing an ad and appearing on a chat show with her besties, Sussanne Khan and Gayatri Joshi Oberoi, the actress has turned cover girl for Harper’s Bazaar India magazine.

Sonali took to social media to share the cover page with her fans. Captioning it, she wrote, “There’s no one way to tell how our experiences change us or shape us. Not all transformations are visible, but they will always leave an impact. What I’ve learnt is to never let it hold me back. I would rather dress up and show up! That’s how I would describe my day, shooting for the @bazaarindia cover. Had a great time talking to you, @sanjuktasharma; thank you! I love the pictures, @tarun_khiwal! Thank you @mickeycontractor for working your magic on me. @nonitakalra, this is special - thank you!”
Speaking to the magazine, Sonali revealed that while she was undergoing treatment in New York, she and her family never lost hope and the thought of death never crossed her mind. “But the thought of death didn’t come to me. I thought this was going to be a long struggle, but I never thought I’d die,” she said. “So when my PET [Positron Emission Tomography] scan showed up cancer had spread all over my abdomen, like fairy lights scattered all over, and when the doctor in New York said that there was about 30 per cent chance of it all going away, we were shattered,” she added.

Sonali recently appeared on Neha Dhupia’s chat show Vogue BFFs season 3 with her close buddies Gayatri Oberoi and Sussanne Khan. During her treatment, the actress had to shave off her hair. On the show, Sonali spoke about her hair, which had always been the talk of the town. A Mumbai Mirror report quoted the actress saying, “Now that I think of it, my whole life had been all about my hair, even though it sounds superficial. I’ve endorsed every hair product at some point in my life.”
